As disabled people, we often find it hard to work with our attendants in a professional Employer/Employee manner. This is particularly true if you are just beginning to work with a personal assistant. Even long-time users of attendant care service “lose control” sometimes. So how can you take charge and stay in control of your own care?
Enroll in “Managing Your Personal Assistant”
This four-week Independent Living Skills Training Class will provide guidelines to help you direct your personal assistant and have your needs met as you wish. You will learn (or freshen) techniques for hiring, firing verifying timesheets as well as effective communication methods.
