There are several accessible and free events in Philly this weekend that celebrate Martin Luther King, Jr.’s inclusive legacy:

What: Community Film Screening of Flesh and Blood & Cheri Honkala’s (anti-poverty advocate) Fundraiser Birthday Bash! Panel following film with Darlene Elias, Cheri Honkala, Guillermo Santos, Edgardo Gonzalez, and Galen Tyler
When: Friday, January 12 at 7pm

Admission: Donation of any amount

What: Exhibition of photos by Harvey Finkle of the Poor People’s Economic Human Right’s Campaign’s retracing of Martin Luther King’s Poor People’s March from Marks, MS to Washington, DC, twelve years ago
When: Sunday, January 14 at 3pm
Location: Greater Impact Worship Center, 2431 N. 6th Street, Phila PA 19133

What: Martin Luther King, Jr. Day & 50th Anniversary of MLK’s Poor People’s Campaign
When: Monday, January 15 at 3pm
Location: Teach-in and march starting at 6th & Cumberland St.
Marching to PPEHRC office at 3552 N. 6th Street, Phila, PA 19140 from Greater Impact Worship Center 2431 N. 6th Street, Phila PA 19133
